Academic Programme
At St Theresa’s Convent School, we provide a balanced and engaging academic programme from Grade 00 to Grade 7. Following the CAPS curriculum, we strive to develop confident, independent learners through high-quality teaching, meaningful learning experiences, and individual support.

Our Phases
Little Flowers ECD
Grade 00-R
Little Flowers is our Early Childhood Development Centre and forms part of the Foundation Phase. Learners develop early literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social skills in a caring environment that lays the foundation for future learning.
Foundation Phase
Grade 1-3
Building on the strong foundations established in Little Flowers, the Foundation Phase develops essential literacy, numeracy, and life skills while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Intermediate Phase
Grade 4-6
Learners build subject knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through a broad academic program that encourages independence, collaboration, and personal growth.
Senior Phase
Grade 7
Our Senior Phase prepares learners for the transition to high school through academic challenge, leadership opportunities, and the development of responsible, confident, and resilient young people.

Assessment & Progress
Learner progress is assessed in accordance with the CAPS curriculum through a combination of formal and informal assessments. Regular feedback and reporting ensure that parents remain informed about their child’s academic development throughout the year.
Where additional support is needed, the school arranges progress meetings with parents to discuss concerns, identify areas for improvement, and work together to support each learner’s success. We also host information evenings, providing parents with the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress with teachers and view their child’s classwork and assessment books.
We value the partnership between home and school. Parents who have any questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the school office via email to arrange a meeting with the relevant teacher or teachers.
